While the options provided by CYM Jewelry are limited, this is only because the options available in the Market are more extensive than can be provided here but the options provided are very selective. For necklaces and bracelets, the primary option is the addition of charms. The first consideration is the location and the design of the jewelry makes this part easy. Time to delve a little deeper into the secrets of the design. Each necklace/bracelet is comprised of three chain segments (as described in 'Styles'). Each of these segments is connected to the next segment using a ring (remember this part), which provides the means for the bracelet to stay in place. The center segment of the chains is that portion of the necklace that will hang in down and by placing the charms on this segment they will be the center of attention when worn as a necklace. When worn as a bracelet, the three segments seem to intermingle so the charms will simply hang down from the chain. Charms can be added in two ways, first, as a permanent attachment so that it will always be there, consider a small lock with multiple keys to be symbolic of finding the right key to your affections. Other options include the heart, or the popular 'Mom' or 'Love'. The second type of charm that is popular today is the charm with a 'lobster claw' clasp. These charms can be added or removed at the whim of the wearer and there is a wide variety of charms and styles currently available. Lastly, the final secret of the jewelry when the way the jewelry is worn as a bracelet. On casual examination, the clasp on the jewelry is made up of a 'toggle' and a 'Clasp' (see the sample pictures below). The part that loots like a bar is the toggle and the circle is the clasp, slipping the toggle through the clasp allows the necklace to be worn. Remember the rings connecting the chain segments? If you wrap the first chain segment around your wrist, the toggle can be inserted through the first ring. Then wrap the center chain segment around your wrist so that the toggle can be inserted through the second ring, then lastly, wrap the third chain segment around the wrist and insert the toggle through the clasp. Because each segment is held in place by the toggle through each ring, then each segment stays the same length and the bracelet won't fall off the wrist. Hint: reverse the process to remove. Now is the time to gasp: "Why hasn't anyone thought of this before!!" One last topic: "Is size important?" Contrary to the opinion of many, size is very important, bigger is not better. In terms of CYM Jewelry, picking the size that is 'just right' is critical. If the length of the necklace is too long then the bracelet will just slip off the hand because one size does not fit all. As silly as it sounds, the easiest approach is to measure your wrist at that point where the bump sticks out, then look at the table below: 5.5 Inches: 19.0 inches 6.0 inches: 20.5 inches 6.5 inches: 22.0 inches 7.0 inches: 23.5 inches 7.5 inches: 25.0 inches 8.0 inches: 26.5 inches 8.5 inches: 28.0 inches Since the necklace is comprised of three segments forming the bracelet, if the segments are too long then there will be too much play on the wrist and the bracelet will slide over the hand and off, best to avoid this option. The sizes described above should provide enough play so that the bracelet is not tight or clingy but should not fall off. Lastly, let's consider the rings that connect the segments. Each style of chain is matched with a specific style of ring, however, you may special order a variance at an additional cost and time to prepare. The Marine Chain uses an antique style ring matched with two smaller rings of the same style. The Daisy Chain a plain ring matched with two smaller rings of the same style. Lastly, the Infinity Chain uses a twisted style ring with two smaller rings of the same style. |
